  Since being taken over by the South Bend Chocolate Cafe, my service and bagels have been terrible. One toasted barely nukes the bagels, and the second toaster blackens them. One time I was in, a toaster caught on fire and filled the entire restaurant with smoke, but the workers were too busy socializing to do anything about it. I had to repeat my request several times, which isn't that big a deal, but got annoying after the fourth time in 5 minutes. Although I had asked to see the bagel after it went through the toaster (because who wants a mushy, barely warm bagel?), the waitress ignored my request, which resulted in a cold bagel by the time I sat down. If I hadn't seen her put it in the toaster, I wouldn't have realized it went through the machine. That same day, a second bagel that tasted un-cooked and doughy, which was the final straw and cemented my decision not to return. Which is truly a shame, because for years Studebagels was my favorite breakfast restaurant.

  Great Bagels and workers. I was greeted right away and the staff takes care of the customers. I feel sorry for the person you didn't have the same experience .... they should go back again.
  
  Just went there for lunch 3/2/16 and got and amazing lunch bagel and delicious cookie. the lady behind the desk even made sure I got a fresh cookie!

  Without a doubt the best Bagel and Lox I've ever eaten. Staff was excellent. Very nice atmosphere and very very clean.Einstein Bros should take notice. I will go back.
